ABOUT WAUSEON REC ASSOCIATION
The Wauseon Recreation Department is a community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to investing in youth and strengthening the Wauseon community through quality recreational programming. With a long-standing commitment to character, discipline, and tradition, the organization provides inclusive sports and recreation opportunities for more than 2,000 children and adults each year. Programs are designed to promote teamwork, personal growth, and lifelong healthy habits in a positive, structured environment.
WAUSEON REC BOARD
The Wauseon Recreation Association is led by a volunteer Board of Directors committed to providing quality youth sports programs, promoting good sportsmanship, and supporting the development of athletes in our community.
President
Jason Blonstein
Jason Blonstein serves as President of Wauseon Recreation. He is a partner at Caldwell Partners, an executive search firm, and has called Wauseon home for the past eight years. His wife, Erin Christman, grew up in Wauseon, and together they have four children who are all involved in rec sports.
Jason is passionate about increasing community involvement at every level of sports and helping create strong opportunities for local kids and families. Outside of his work and community involvement, he enjoys cheering on the Chicago Bears and playing video games.
Vice President
Phil Kessler
Phil Kessler serves as Vice President for Wauseon Recreation. He is a Fire Chief and RN, with a long history of service to the Wauseon community. Phil was born and raised in Wauseon, has been a member of the Fire Department since 1997, and has worked as an ER Nurse since 2009.
Phil has three children involved in WRA programs, including karate, wrestling, baseball, football, and soccer. He is excited to support the growth of existing programs and help create new opportunities for local kids and families. Phil enjoys spending time with family, lake and beach time, and attending Mud Hens and Walleye games.
Treasurer
Dana Frost
Dana Frost serves as Treasurer for Wauseon Recreation. She works as a Tax Director and has called Wauseon home for the past five years.
Dana is married with two children who are involved in sports, giving her a personal connection to the mission of Wauseon Recreation.
She is excited to help improve communication and support a stronger experience for local families. Outside of work and community involvement, Dana enjoys golf, skiing, and reading.
Secretary
Brock Nagel
Brock Nagel serves as Secretary for Wauseon Recreation. He is the owner and founder of Warrior Wings and has deep roots in the Wauseon community.
Brock was raised in Wauseon and Duluth, Georgia, and moved back to Wauseon in 2016 to raise his family.
Brock has two children involved in rec programs, including basketball, baseball, and football.
He is excited to see Wauseon Recreation continue to grow and improve for everyone in the community. Outside of work and community involvement, Brock enjoys Ohio State football, golf, and spending time with family.
Board Member
Chris Hannon
Chris Hannon serves as a Board Member for Wauseon Recreation. He works as a Production Area Manager at Worthington Steel and has called Wauseon home for the past 10 years.
Chris is married with three children who are involved in rec programs, giving him a strong connection to the families and athletes Wauseon Recreation serves.
He is excited to help expand youth programs and events for the community. Outside of work and board service, Chris enjoys coaching youth baseball and fishing.
